Palm City Residences Staff & Tenants Gear Up for Summer!
date:25/02/2010

From the very first day when the foundation stone of Palm City was laid in June 2006, the words “Hustle & Bustle” have been synonymous with Palm City, the residential compound situation just 12kms outside Tripoli centre and now offering accommodation to over 300 expats in Libya.

However, three and a half years down the line the hustle and bustle of workers laying roads, refining the landscaping, fine-tuning the electrics and delivering furniture, amongst many other jobs, has given way to the hustle and bustle of residents who on a daily basis can be seen enjoying their new home inside Palm City, taking lovely walks inside the compound’s magnificent tree-lined roads, popping into the newly-opened state-of-the-art supermarket and also escorting their kids to the daily lessons now on offer at the Palm City Football school.

With over 140 units already occupied by incoming expatriates, Palm City is truly living up to its promise of delivering a unique lifestyle to those living within its boundaries and these events are just a taste of what is in store for its residents.

As at February 2010, over half the units in Palm City have already been handed over to the Palm City team which now also boasts a Customer Services Executive, Head Housekeeper, Food & Beverage Manager, an Executive Chef and a fully-staffed security operation.

Whilst constantly focusing on new arrivals averaging five families a week, the Palm City team is gearing up for the opening of public area facilities which will complement the stunning fully-furnished residences. Many of the sports facilities are already available with 4 tennis courts and a football pitch already being utilised. The indoor swimming pool, squash court, Sauna/Jacuzzi area and gymnasium are all still on course to open during the first quarter of 2010.

The Christmas party which took place in December was the perfect occasion for Palm City to introduce the culinary concepts on offer inside the village. Led by Kurt Micallef and supported by Executive Chef Christopher Bonnici, the Food & Beverage team will be running two restaurants, “Movida” & “Slush” whilst monitoring a third outlet leased to a third-party operator.

“Movida” and “Slush” will be the heart and soul of Palm City once these are up and running in the coming weeks, ready for the summer season. Located right on Palm City’s superbly landscaped outdoor pool and private sandy beach, “Movida” will offer a mixture of Mediterranean and Arabic dishes whilst “Slush” will introduce an adventurous “build your own” concept where the diners will be able to build their own dish from ingredients on the menu. The third restaurant, “Lamma”, an all-day diner inside the main Piazza will for the early risers at breakfast and serve a variety of dishes until evening.

Large multi-nationals have chosen to house their employees at Palm City and with the project rapidly reaching completion, the indications are that they will be joined by many others in 2010.
